Once upon a time, there lived a boy and a girl - but they were always separated by thousands of miles. Hmm...this is not the typical fairy tale that we had grown up with.
Perhaps our paths might have crossed over the years as we hopped between countries. But it took 26 years to eventually find each other. One fine January evening, our lovely parents shared stories about us and inadvertently set a beautiful journey in motion.
Not one to believe in fate, both of us began a casual chat over Skype. Neither of us could have predicted what followed next. As the months passed by, a fleeting crush turned to being smitten in love to making a lifelong promise. It is no easy feat beginning and maintaining a bond over vast distance - but it portrayed our unfaltering commitment. And of course, it helped having a strong selfie game to capture our love.
I found my gem. It only took our lives to overlap in 5 countries over 2 continents - from India to Singapore to Canada. It was a thrill to discover we shared hometowns, musical taste, Lord of the Rings fanaticism and a reverence for anything sweet among many other things.
We are excited to begin our next journey as husband and wife, as business and medicine nerds, and as lifelong lovers. Let the selfies never stop!
